My Sister’s Baby Shower

10 May

My little sister, Marissa is having a baby! So I jumped at the chance to throw her a shower.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get photos of everyone who pulled this day off. I was overwhelmed by the hard work so many were willing to do for the love of my sister. These are some of the amazing people that worked their butts off to make my crazy ideas happen! Susie Q, Leata, our mom, and Lorraine.

My BFF who also did a TON behind the scenes with me. How hot is she?!

Some of the details…

Everything on the menu was tiny. Baby burgers, baked mac & cheese in baby food jars, veggie cups, guacamole bruschetta

And some tiny, sweet treats too. Mini lemon cupcakes, Snickerdoodles, baby strawberry shortcake, and vanilla bean ice cream cups

I love you sis and can’t wait to be an Auntie to your sweet little baby!

The Best Party Ever

22 Feb

Bringing in the New Year of 2011 with our good friends. We all had a giant slumber party. I see this as our official, annual celebration together.

Me and my man

With my 2 best friends at the same time! Couldn’t get better

Getting our wannabe groove on

Don’t you want to be here?!

Beasore Meadows

18 Aug

We went up to Beasore Meadows for the weekend with the Boganwrights and Wilkinsons. The “Bogi’s” have a cabin that his dad built. It was gorgeous.

The girls had fun walking to the meadow to collect lady bugs. Why are lady bugs the one bug not shunned like the rest? Just curious.

We got to ride their quads. The boys were like kids! After their first ride, Chad and Brian kept saying they didn’t  know the last time they had that much fun.

The girls got to ride them too.

Vienna loved the freedom she had to explore the outdoors.

Hi-Jacked post

16 Feb

hey guys, it’s brian. I’ve hi-jacked jacinda’s blog to let you know what I’ve been doing. last year, as part of our budget makeover, we switched from our TypePad (which was a pay-for blog) to WordPress (which is free). What we didn’t know is that all of our pictures were being stored by TypePad. So, as soon as we cancelled it, our pictures from all of our old posts didn’t work.

This was a huge bummer and the source of much sadness for Jacinda. Although, we can’t get all those pictures back, I’ve been secretly trying to rebuild her blog. It was going to be a valentine’s day present (and still is) but I’ve already put about 20 hours of work into it (lunches, at night, days off while kids were sleeping) and I’m not done.

But, I will finish. So, Jacinda… I love you and I love the way you create so many memories for our family that are worth blogging about. I hope that with the restoration of all your old posts, you’ll feel free to create more.

Love you,

Back on Radar

22 Apr

Vienna is doing great. She’s 5 weeks old. Already up to 8lbs 7oz as of Friday. She sleeps great most nights. On good nights only waking up once. Her cheeks are starting to fill out, which I love. I am constantly munching on them. She is a really happy baby. Can sleep through anything. We’ve taken her to a concert and her sisters can be screaming at the top of their lungs next to her, and she’ll keep snoozing.

Melania is my Sassy and Sweetie. She really loves her new sister. She has to know where Vienna is at all times. She steals her paci’s. (Yes she’s still obsessed with them and hasn’t had one of her own since last summer) She loves playing with all the baby gadgets, swing, car seat, and bassinet. These are her new toys. She’s still doing great with her potty training. She’s needed a little extra love, but we’ve had some really great bonding time together.

We registered Kiara for kindergarten last week. Brian bought her the school tshirt and she’s worn it almost everyday. She couldn’t be more excited. It’s all she’s been talking about. Kiara is a little mommy. It’s hard for her to share Vienna even with me. It’s so nice having her help.

My New Love

17 Mar

Meet Vienna Scarlett Hale.

Born: March 17th @ 10:08am
Weighing in at 6lbs, 15oz and measuring 20 3/4″
I am (Brian) typing this while Jacinda is trying to tell me what to type as she nods in and out of sleep.
She says that it’s hard because she hasn’t gotten to hold her yet, but she’s beautiful and she’s already head-over-heels in love. Thank you for all your comments, prayers and texts. Please keep praying for her complete health.
You can check out my blog to get some other updates.

This is funny!

I stole this article from a post my friend did at A Temple Muse. Thought it was appropriate for St. Patrick's Day approaching.
